Hi guys,

My mates have been talking about 'Super Chips' for a while now, saying they would like one and you can get 50Bhp alone from a £200 chip. I don't think this is true, they say it is.

I was just wondering what everyone else thinks about this.

Maybe on turbo cars but smaller engined cars you wont find that you get 50BHP

in the punto gt the seb2 chip will take a standard gt from 130 bhp to 155ish.

ive been told that a revo ship will take the 1.8 20t engine from a leon or ibiza from 156 to over 200

who knows, if its one of these dodgy makes im sure it would be bollox.

Exactly what i said. What exactly does it do? Replace your ECU? Then the only majour thing it could change is your fueling, correct?

alters fueling and changed rev limit.

i think if you look at 500 bhp cars, a chip may give you 50bhp.. with it propperly setup and mapped.. but it wouldnt be in the reigon of £200 to do..

just for reference.. the SEB2 for the pgt costs £100, and you see 30bhp from that.

So for average cars here, 1.2's-1.3's, would they see any gain at all, and what kind of price would they be talking about. Just so i can prove them wrong

i dont think not seeing any gain at all will be the case im sure you will see some gain, on a RR but for serious gains in mapping and setup propperly i would be lookin on the high side of 500 ish
