Some of you may recognise the name as gareth won or did very well in TOTB 1 iirc with his escort cosworth, and one time attack at rockingham amougst other things

Paint thickness, too much buffing and it'd wear through, far too risky IMO

Wax is non abrasive and actually adds to the surface thickness. Claybars are non abrasive and remove contaminents. There is no risk unless you use a cutting compund.

we have just done a full respray on an f40 coz it has been mullered with stone chips, unfortunatly you can't keep the weave as you have to prime it .but looks so much better all smooth and shiney
