Hi guys

Been a while since I updated you all on the progress of the MK Indy R1 that we are building........so here goes. Well its pretty much there now, only 3 major things to do which is fitting the exhaust, plumbing the coolant system and the wiring. We have decided to have a crack at the wiring ourselves, a bit mad I know but after having a word with the guys at MK (and them being so busy - 3 week wait for them to wire it) we have decided to have a go at it ourselves. And so far so good, its not too difficult at all (says the guy who spent 4 hours trying to get the rear lights to work to find out the bulb wasnt seated properly! Haha!) To be fair i have taken a back seat now there are wires involved, I have become chief brewer and fetcher of electrical connectors..........its just not my thing if Im honest!

We hope to have the wiring done by weekend - We have had it all in place, the engine runs and everything works ok but now it needs shortening, tidying and the spare wires stripping out of the loom. Then its exhaust and plumbing next week.....we can then fit the interior (erm, well the two bits of carbon!) the seats and get some wheels sorted! Then its off for SVA!

It would have been done miles earlier but a roadtrip to Barcelona over Easter slowed things down...........but thats another story!

Well heres some pics.............

Front Passenger Side

The "Windscreen"

Is it any wonder why Ive started making the brews?

Splicing the Sierra loom to the R1 loom

Aaaaargh!

Rear Lights In Place

Few More Wires

Modified Mk2 Escort Rad

Front Brake Pipes (We will untwist them, worry not! )

Oh and heres a new little vid we shot last night when we got it running:

And another little project that I forgot one of my mates had, this thing is mental!!! Think its a ZZR600 engine but I could be wrong......

if you dont mind me asking and I know you've probably already answered this) but how much is it all costing?

Do you have to have it SVA to make it road legal?

Yeah, its staying white guys, thinking about putting a chequered flag on part of it like MK's old demo car!

Its def taken shape just lately and to be honest, its been a piece of piss!

Basic kit is £2700 but on top of that you need engine, brakes, diff, seats, wheels, rad, wiring loom etc etc. All in all your looking at between £5-£6k depending on the finishing bits and pieces!

Yep, we will have to SVA it to get it on the road. the test looks like a bit of an arse of a job to be honest!

How much fun are they AK? Its that 14k limiter and the sequential box that dows it for me!!!!

Do it, you wont get anything that comes close for £5k!

Errrr, sort of. You use Sierra diff (Cossie if u want LSD), brakes, hubs, steering column and rack, CV's and driveshafts.
