My girlfriends car has an annoying problem where when driving at night the high beams will come on suddenly, and require the switch to be flicked back manually... is this a common problem, and can it be fixed or does it need a whole new combination switch?
Also fixing it, how do you get the steering wheel off without blowing yourself up with the airbag? (which i've managed to do twice now )
Car is a '96 1.2L Holden Barina City.
Thanks...

It sounds like it needs a new switch, you don't need to take the steering wheel off to swap it though, just the top and bottom steering column surround
The switch just plugs in, so it's a 15 minute job after you've got a new/second hand switch sorted.

Ah I was afraid of that, parts for any euro cars here are stupidly expensive. Thanks though, any nacks for getting the casings off or is fairly simple from just looking at them?
