A GPZ engine?, strange choice using an older engine when much newer, stronger, and more powerfull ones are available?

Early to mid eighties. They are old by todays standards but can be reliable and respond well to a light tune.

its a std engine at 120bhp i think.... must just be for the reliability factor.... not as stressed as a newer engine maybe

A quick car for not a lot of money. Nice purchase. I'd love a kit car one day.

My Dad nearly bought a Striker about 10 years ago. We went to the factory to have a look and test drove one. We took it out, my Dad driving, and it was wet. Came into a round about too quick and hung the back end for what seemed like a ages...i'm in passenger seat getting closer to a big curb and hedge! Finally it snapped back in line and i'm like "thank fook", my Dads just got a huge grin ear to ear!
Great fun!
Wasn't a bike engined one tho...Can't remember what was in it.
