That is shocking poor pay in today's world.
Think minimum used to be like 4.80 about 5 years ago, then £5, then £5.20 etc...

its well above £5 now altho may be lower for u21, u18 etc but still! I used to make that in 1998 at a call centre!

Not for a 19 year old it isn't. Doesn't go up to £5.35 until 21. £4.50 is infact above the minimum wage!
I didn't have a job, was permanently overdrawn as the student loan wasn't enough, couldn't get any other job, don't have a choice.
And this is retail by the way. Retail pay is notoriously shite.

i worked 7.30 - 6.30 today, not bad though got paid 9.80 an hour 
working tomorrow as well Ghay !
