For a pretty sharp lad... I'm surprised you didn't google this and find out it can be Tea ( an evening meal) or Dinner ( an evening meal).

(ever been to a high tea? no? then you are a nobody) Yes its called lunchtime as a child, I agree. But we all call it different things for different reasons.
