Mav knows the score, how the fuck can you have something for tea, tea is hot water mixed with a teabag.

For a pretty sharp lad... I'm surprised you didn't google this and find out it can be Tea ( an evening meal) or Dinner ( an evening meal).

Edit: and adding the word "fuck" is basically your way of trying to cement the truth, but in all honesty you are not entirely correct. Some people call it different things.... (ever been to a high tea? no? then you are a nobody) Yes its called lunchtime as a child, I agree. But we all call it different things for different reasons. The people who try to argue it has a different meaning are the people who have insecurities and need to feel they are right before feeling happy

Have you been drinking by any chance Eck, I believe you have tried to phsyco analyse the fact i made a throw away comment at Mav there

If you get wound up about the fact you have 3 square meals a day and have different terms for them than someone else then good on you tbh.

The closest definition for tea that's close to what some people in here are using it for is :- a light midafternoon meal of tea and sandwiches or cakes.

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing it'll have caught the name because of the tea thats involved.

It's lunch and dinner.
