The 15 Royal Navy sailors and marines held in Iran for almost two weeks are being reunited with their families.
The crew, freed by Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a "gift" to the British people on Wednesday, touched down at Heathrow Airport at 1200 BST.
They were then flown to a Royal Marines base in Devon to see friends and relatives, and to be de-briefed.
that is all

they got what they wanted. Good propaganda for Iran. It wouldnt of been if they had made them stand trial.
Plus, I know Blair is saying they didnt, but makes you wonder what deal we made to get them released??!

Depends what the deal was, but for the freedom of those guys...yes.
Would rather of seen them go in there and get them, rather then be seen to be bent over and shafted by Iran.

agreed jay, if 15 more British servicemen are coming home alive, then its something to celebrate. too many of our boys are being killed out there imo.

It said on the news last night that 2 Iran people that were being held in Iraq were released but the UK / US governments claimed that it had no involvement in those releases as part of negotiation

tbh life doesnt have a price and cosmo people could have died going in there to get them. result has been achieved and no one died
"His aunt, Theresa Fowler, told BBC News: "We are just longing to see him and put our arms around him and give him a kiss."
And Margaret Sperry, his grandmother, said it had been an emotional and difficult time for the family.
"I don't think I would have ever gone out of the door again if anything had happened to him," she said. "
thats reality imo

lets not get into that argument because i fully agree with you Cosmo, people signing up into the armed forces know all the risks, but dying for what i see as an unworthy cause, not a chance. they may feel differently and if so good for them.

or the people they have freed from prison as part of the deal could plan an attack that kills 1000's.
All ifs, buts, and maybes.

they sign up knowing full well what could happen to them and what it will do to their families. Im not wishing them to die, but Im also not saying we should give in to Iran and give them what they wanted for hostages who knew the dangers.

i think ahmendjad is a poo head for releasing them the way he did. IF he was going to let them go why let it go on for soo long. gayness imo

because they wanted the propaganda (they did the wrong thing, were doing the right, arent we good) and they obviously worked some sort of deal out to free captives being held...which is very very wrong if so!
