Amazing took the little old corsa for it's 1st MOT since i brought it...failed in style. Took the car around 1 month in advance from it's MOT date.

Reasons behind this...well simple respray is on the 16th and wanted all the repair work done before hand can't be bothered to spray it and find scratches in the paint

Anyway...somethings like my number plate and lights i new about however i got 4 problems i didn't have a clue about

List :

Offside track rod end ball joint has excessive play

Offside steering component mounting prescribed area is excessively correoded

Near side and offside rear coil springs incomplete

Anyway...the 1st two are being fixed on sat for £100-£150...which i have no idea is good or bad but welding some of my car anyway...

The coils on the other hand i was suprised about...was planning on buying a suspension kit this month anyway, thank god lol. But what are the signs to the coils going, i have no loss in control, no troubles steering and no rough ride...sometimes when reversing or dropping off kerbs or speed bumps i have a knocking noise from the rear but other than that i had no idea that they had been snapped

Hrm...new suspension kit needed now got till May 7th to get it all done before my current mot ends

Enjoy the story of the corsa that likes to fall apart

"Offside steering component mounting prescribed area is excessively correoded " How helpful...
And looks like your coil springs have fractured, therefore; incomplete unless you cut them or something saft.
You can't really tell a coil has gone unless it's slipping of its housing and then you'd feel something in the steering.
Knocking noise = exhaust?

Exhaust doesn't move. So no idea tbh.

Other than that the person fixing the steering component will check it on sat and fix it but...no idea haha...ah well least it's being sorted before the cars spray
