Designed a quick advert for one of our clients at work. Was told to use artwork from the companys website, the main pic on their site is a ladybird, so obviously i used that, designed the ad and emailed it to him, heres the reply:

Dear David,

Thank you for your Email.

I like ladybirds, they are marvellous insects, they are useful predators in the garden.

If I were asked about useful insects, ladybirds would be in the top ten, if asked to discourse on the control of aphids without the use of pesticides ladybirds would be top of the list. Were I to link this loveable little insect to a product range my first thoughts would be children's books followed closely by a range of children's clothing sold in the past by Woolworth's.

However despite the presence of this excellent little insect on the home page of our website I feel there is a lamentable lack of association in the minds of my potential customers looking for wrought iron plant supports with ladybirds no matter how attractive.

I am sure that these Philistines may in time come to see the error of their ways and will not be able to look a ladybird in the eye without their thoughts turning to a gazebo or obelisk.

In the meantime I feel something a little less abstract might work better, attractive though the ad undoubtably is.

Could you please have another look at this and try a different approach.

Since that email, i have replaced the image of the ladybird, put in come iron casting and he loves it

Thats one of our OLD Websites!! The company I work for (tho i am off ill today, jesus there are some shit ones)

Gotta remember our clients can edit their websites, so we make a design and then they have the ability to undo all our hard work and cock everything up! Of which im still not sure what the point is, kind of defeats the purpose of them paying us in the first place, but oh well
