MY Car seems to rattle like fook when idling but if i put the clutch in the noise quietens? any ideas what it could be?

not long had a new clutch fitted

They probably replaced the friction disc and not the entire clutch assembly. Clutch change should be friction disc, clutch housing and release bearing.

so how much for a new clutch release bearing? does gearbox need removing to replace?

in most cases yes. take it back to the garage that did the work first and ask them why your new clutch is rattling.
