Chesters DVLA is the same...small pokey place...no car park spaces...

All this hassle is one of the reasons I got rid of my private plate...in the future when I get one its all getting done by post...

Update

I sent them a letter explaining my situation, they responded but forgot to put a stamp on the letter. Cost me £1.24 to pick it up

The letter briefly touches on what I'd mentioned, full on copy/paste job from some "help" page no doubt. Can't see whats very helpful about it

Apparently its not a random inspection, 1 in every 10 applications must be inspected. That 1 car being picked at random of course

The letter also says that they do travel out to inspect cars if its an exceptional circumstance. I've asked for an example of this, there getting back to me about it. "we dunt do that narr" according to the female advisor I spoke to

I offered to pick up the inspector so the inspection could be carried out at my home........"narr we dunt do that"

Im really pissed off, its starting to get annoying now as I can't take parts off the car till this inspection has been carried out

Take it on a trailer, find as many Corsa parts as you can. Put it in the middle of the car park blocking everything up, spread some more parts about, throw them the keys. Inspect away mr DVLA.

I used to have to deal with them every single day in my old job. They are a nightmare!!!!! If you want the plate youve gotta do what they say unfortunately. The inspecters ive come across are a bit like little hitlers. Swansea tells you one thing, your local office tells you another. you could try another DVLA local office - i used to play two off against each other at my old work. The 1 in 10 is rubbish though, they inspect when they feel something is iffy e.g a cars been off the roads too long/ was previously written off

what can i say Matt, do you remember all the trouble i had a few months ago with them tryin to change my plate of and cos my car wasnt taxed they wouldnt do it?!

Even tho the car was a total wirte off!!

Guess what, its still fuckin goin on an now they too want me to take the car for inspection.
Tryin to explain that i wasnt doin this as the car has body pannels missing, no engine, not interior at all, no brakes and huge dents everywhere and that this would not be possible is a joke!!!

I've have the e-mail address for the guy that sent me the letter out an im using it!!

I have requested that they come out and see the car as i have no means to transport the car to them.

try it... you might get one!

It's almost as bad at my local DVLA office.

Yours is bound to be worse. Its southern, which means that no one speaks proper English

Don't make me come up there and windmill you.
