I've got some video files on my computer that I want to burn to DVD so I can watch on the TV rather than on the computer.

They are in.XVID format. Something like that anyway. I can burn them to DVD and they work on other computers but not on DVD players.

Is there any easy way I can convert the files to a different format thats compatible with DVD players?

Just download Nero 7, this does it all for you by dragging and dropping. It takes a couple of hours though.

it depends on the length of the movies/clips...

A DVD will take 2hrs of high quality

But if you have more than 1 file on the dvd, how does the player know which one to play?

you create your own menu to choose which video you want to play. Theres a little wizzard to create it all in nero

Even if your 2 xvid files are longer than 2 hours then Nero 7 will just record it in Long play so you can fit 3 or 4 hours on a DVD. I always make it without a menu though so it just plays. I was impressed when I tried it as well

DO NOT USE NERO 7!!! it is an atrocious piece of software that should be sent back to hell. really bad sync issues when its converting DivX/XviD to DVD. format. Use DVD Santa or Nero 6 Ultra with Nero Showtime, and decent codecs
