Thought i'd post about my little fiasco on my day off yesterday! It all started with me deciding to put the standard exhaust back on and cleaning my car at my dads work.
Took it to his works, and him and my best mates dad who works for my dad started taking the old exhaust off. The car was jacked up at the back as they were only taking the backbox off. They put the old standard back one on and asked me to start it up to test it, as I wasn't the one who drove it into the unit I didn't think about checking if it was in gear............ (you can picture whats coming up!)
I started the car, the guy had left it in 1st gear, so it drove forward the door was open and hit a post which crushed me between the door and the frame and started bending my elbow back the other way, my finger got caught in the keyring and snapped the key in the ignition. Whilst this was happening my dad and other guy was just under the car checking the exhaust when it started, the other guy manaegd to get out before it crushed him but my dad didnt. The car drove over his arm/hand and he just managed to get his head out of the way of the tyre by about an inch, it was that close the jack came down and cut his head. When i realised he was under it i ran over to him and left the car as I couldnt turn it off, all i cared about was my dad, ran over and he was face down on the floor not moving at first, i thought i'd killed him! Then he rolled over swearing and his hand was cut to from the wheel. Luckily it seems like nothing major broke as he could still move his arm/hand but said he couldnt grip things tight, he won't go to the hospital unless its hanging off! Think its ok today thought but am checking later, just says its sore and a bit swollen!
Luckily the jack held it up long enough when it started moving for him to just move his head.
I didn't think about checking for netural as A) I couldnt reach it fully as i was leaning over stuff, B) I assumed the guy who drove it in wouldn't leave it in gear..
Also.... whilst i was seeing to him because the car couldnt stop that ploughed into a shelfing unit on wheels in his unit and it drove that across the showroom into more of his stock! Had huge white paint marks up my bonnet/wing but luckily they T Cut out and was just surface, but my bumper (the pre 97 with irmscher valance) got most of the damage and that has big gashes in it now! Nice just as I was looking to sell the car to get a new one!
All in all I had an eventful day off! Luckily no-one was really injured we just got some sore body parts at the moment!

Was a bad karma day, I had already been to the hospital in the morning for a check up then when I got to his work I was telling him how i hated driving the car now and want to sell it to get something else, so it all backfired on me and tried to punish me!
cheers to! I text him and said it was a mini hit and run! He had a customer in the showroom to being shown around by another work, they left pretty sharpish though lol
