well i took it back yesterday afternoon and got the unit swapped.
kept all the original av cable, hdd, joypad etc just got a new box and new power brick
it seems to run quieter so im guessing its the newer model. and the power brick has a vent in the end of it which im sure my old one didnt have.
i argued with the manager in game (what a tosser btw) for a new 12months warranty as its a new piece of equipment but he wouldnt give it to me.
so i was straight on the phone to ms support when i got home, registered the new serial against my name and also got a new 12months warranty up until april 2008
suddenly, the extended warranty for £60 seems like a good deal

I assume you have the new PSU then, it should have a small fan inside.
Nicely done though, where did you get your extended warranty from? Il probably just say mine is broken when ive had it for 10 months and get another new one or something. Did they test it in Game?
