We got an arrowana yesterday

My evil fish ate the snakehead we got (banned in usa because its so nasty ) so we got a replacement. Its in the small tank till he gets big enough to go in with the bad boys.

Im going to need about 3 8ft tanks when they all get big tho

They are scary looking feckers Eat EVERYTHING

Dont put it in a tank with anything else that swims around below it, they get "droopy eye" & their eyes kind of get stuck in the looking down position

that also has to do with there diet.

Hes only tiny the now i just love how the look so grumpy.

Compaired to the snakehead they are tame the thought of that thing huge was quite scary.

are those arrowana's the ones you usually see in a Chinese place in there fish tanks? My local chinese had one and it was huge, when it died he said it was valued at a few thousand

nah his was definately silver, he had it a good 8 yrs or so, as I remember seeing it when i was a little chav hanging around outside his place when i was 14

hes got a new one which is the same but its like 1/16th of the size of the other lol

silvers usually dont get near the value of the reds even though they grow massive,every 1 iv ever seen worth over 2 grand were all red tailed asians or red asians

maybe tho

is it just a red tail then as it might of been, i just remember it being mainly silver and it being to big for the tank really. Just had to swim in a circle all day! couldnt even go up and down i dont think

theres quite a few different kinds, blacks,reds and red tailed,green/golden and silvers! silvers are the common ones and as such arnt worth as much
