Went fishing last night at Fryers pool, the place where I had my 26 pounder last year. This is the second time out for me this year.
Decided to go stalking near the reeds, so I donned my wellies and got over to one of the pegs that was put in last year.
I threw in a few pieces of meat and then casted in. About half an hour later my float went down so I struck it.......fighting like a begger.........in the net.......cor blimey, 19 pounder. That'll do for me.

It was nice last night, warm and the pit was still. Then the sun went down, it was a bit cold.

i had a 15lb common a couple of weeks ago from a small local water. My mate landed a 22lb ghosty on the same day. went down a couple of nights ago and the carp were topping all over the place. i reckon in a couple of weeks it'll be time to start baiting up more heavily.

I reckon so. The water is still cold at the mo, hence the reason for going so close to the reeds. A few more weeks, and i'll be fishing for days on end.

Nope. I did have it booked but my mate couldn't make it. Shame really. I've read alot about it though, it's supposed to be mega for carp.

Looks good. We were going to go to the Northwest of France. Ferry from Portsmouth to France and then it was only a 110 mile drive. Shame about the drive from up here to Portsmouth though.
