These people make me laugh. I've had two companies trying to sell me a new "printing solution" to me for the past 3 months. Basically they want to replace all the printers on our network

I was upfront with them from the start and said I couldn’t assure them I would be buying either.

Anyway, they both did demo's to me etc and told me "how we could save money" (the usual sales pitch).

Today one of them called and I said we weren’t interested anymore. Well he totally lost it and started getting angry at me down the phone saying stuff like "I wish we could have been more honest with each other from the start which would have saved both of us a lot of time" etc

I just said "Great....." and put the phone down

No disrespect to any sales people on here BTW

I had axa ppp healthcare call me at work the otherday trying to sell me a healthcare insurance (funnily enough) I let him explain the ins and outs for about 20 mins and then told him I wasn't interested as I could get it cheaper through work, he was really trying hard to get me to sign up the poor badger

I've got to inform the other company that we arent interested also. I wonder how they'll take it

it seems that just because they come in and deliver a presentation (that looks as though a 4 year old threw together in powerpoint) you should sign up to a contract.

We have sales people ring our place and try to speak to the managers about seminars and crap like that.

They always act really stealthy and try not to say who they are. You can tell from a mile off.

I got headhunted once, when I was 17 they thought I was the strategy and planning manager because I used to have to get all strategy magazines sent to me cos' my old boss couldn;t be assed.

They were like tom, are you ok to talk, can we meet for coffee etc

Did you go along with it for a laugh?

It’s like when conservatory sales people call me...I let them ramble on for 20 minutes on how good their product is, then they ask to arrange a site survey. At which point I say "yeah no problem, I live in the top floor flat of my building, when can I expect the site survey to be carried out"

One thing I’ve learnt, sales people hate it when you waste their time. They don’t call back after that

I can relate to the frustrated sales guys tbh, I had done a site survey and full specification on a brand new build for tracking systems to be installed, a potential 40k order.

The women I was dealing with then felt it necessary to pass on my full spec to a different company saving them the time and money which they then took off the price and won.

Although losing work fair and square i suppose you can't grumble

i agree, when my dad gets the calls about windows, kitchen or whatever, he says to them "I'm an electrician, can i come re-wire your house and then i'll buy your......"
They then say "But i don't want my house re-wired..." Dad interupts...

"I DON'T WANT NO FUCKING......" <---- insert what ever they're selling..

then put the phone down..
