hi all i did have a thread saying disaster but i cant find it nomore

basically my 1.2 8v was ticking then got told by a mechanic to put engine flush in...done this then 5 mile down the road the cambelt snapped

after stripping the engine down found out the crankshaft is seized

heres a few pics of my engine in bits









and heres the noise it was making before it snapped,obviously the belt hittign off the case,not the cams at all

what do you think it means now then?new engine?

how can you tell if the crank is seized from that

a mechanic heared the car making that noise and told you to put engine flush in

yeah hes quite good normally,told me to run it for 30 mins with it in then give it an oil change

im 110% gutted but if i put a bigger engine in i need to no all the mod cons

Is it out of gear? Water in chamber will be from when you took the head off.

You could get another one of those engines for free, nobody wants them and people have trouble giving them away.

i have a trip engine that might be coming out pretty soon! its a c12nz just like that and only done 53k on a p reg, just depends when i can get some cash to put an xe in

just fit a 1.4 8v MPi or 16v....

I told you it was the cambelt making the noise

If it's the camshaft which has seized, get a new head, or have the head rebuilt.

Mark, put a post up on here in the classifieds, on Novaload.net (that's probably the best bet) and MIGweb, that'll be better than sitting waiting for one to turn up on Ebay
