Did anyone think the Borat film was completely overrated?

I watched it last night with the missus and just didn't laugh as much as I thought I would. It seemed really hyped up for what it actually was.

Sadly, I found the funniest bits to be the extras on the DVD and the Baywatch spoof intro he did.

I laughed when it was in the cinema. One of my mates only got to watch it a few nights ago, and he said he diddn't enjoy it, and this was probably because he had heard so much about the film, that he knew what was coming!

I thought the same, and with all the media attention he got afterwards it's kinda ruined the character of borat for me now cos all his jokes are the same, and keep getting played over and over again.

Yeah, I never liked him on TV, film was watchable, couple of laughs, nothing more.

Its funny in an ironic sense, plenty of digs at Americans that you miss first time around. Plus it makes America look stupid (or should that be more stupid than usual?)

Agree with the same jokes being repeated, ie the retired=retard one which was previously seen in the tv series.

I was LOL for real in the cinema, probably because of the atmosphere. watched it at home with the missus and didnt really laugh that much tbh.

imo it is overrated.

I've not seen his television programme, and watched it at the cinema, seconds after finishing my 4th pint of Hoegaarden, so laughed like a drain throughout.

very hard to substain something like that in a film

Borat is funny in his television programme... but trying to make it into a hour half film is taking it abit too far.

still tho
