my road tax runs out at the end of the month and i've applied and paid for a new one via the internet. I'm not gonna be home until the evening of 1st April so i won't be able to show my new tax disc until i get home that evening. The car's parked on a main road. do u think i'll be ok for that day?

It is a legal requirement to show a tax disk. By not doing so you could get caught etc

The penalty is for not displaying, not not having road tax

if youv bought the tax disk over the net then there has to be some kinda ruling in place about not displaying tax, because you have to wait on it arriving from dvla,
it was there idea to sell it over the net so its the doing wrong if you dont have the disk to display then how can you?
have a look on the site and it will be a bit clearer as to how long you can go without displaying your tax that you have alreadt bought

not looked on the site yet but will have a browse. All it says is it can take upto 5 working days for it to arrive. So i'm guessing theres a bit of a loop hole really
