Hi,

I pay my car insurance monthly and im half way through the year.
Anyway, due to a recent change of car, my insurance has gone up greatly, but have been quoted very good with another company.
Basicly, saving £100 per month.
But when I tried to cancel, I had to pay the remaining premium that I had left, £800!!

So I have to pay them £800 just to cancel my insurance?
Is there any way around this or do I just have to stick with unreasable insurance price for the next 5 month

Thanks

I have never in my life heard of anything like this, and I've canceled my insurance quite a few times.

Thats bollocks. They want you to pay for £800 for a service you won't be using form them. Cancel it over the phone, cancel the DD's and tell them to GTF.

Yes, it is a wank policy, but depends if it is in the small print. If it is, you don't really stand a chance.

Have you claimed on this years policy? If so, that will be why. You don't normally have to if you haven't claimed.

Will you save over £800 if you switched?

Have you claimed on your insurance?

Always read the small print - it'll be in there.

If it isn't in the small print of your policy booklet then they can't charge you imho, if it is, then you'll have to live with it.

They can if it is in the small print, surely. He entered into a contract when he started his insurance - if this was part of the contract, then he has to pay.

Which is shite.
