alright guys! im looking for some advice on where to go next with my car.

having sorted out the handling with new suspension/antiroll bars/strut braces/smaller wheels, and as the brakes have been upgraded all round. i think i can do some more modifcations to the tuning now,

as it stands the car is a 1.4 8v (c14se)


  • Dbilas Throttle Bodies with trumpets
  • sock filters over trumpets
  • ported/polished head
  • 4-2-1 exhaust manifold
  • Magnex Back box
  • quickshift gear linkage
  • standard management


I'm thinking about...
cam.. maybe fast road? or is there a cam out of a different vaux engine i could fit? maybe a c16se nova cam?
unichip.. would also help out with a cam?

4.18 final drive? after reading Dave A's tutorial on this i have been thinking more and more about doing this, would it be worth it on my spec engine? i've also got a few questions which im going to post in the FD thread.

any other mods that you would think are worthwhile? im not looking for massive bhp, just want to make the car more fun to drive and make it a bit better whilst im at it, which is why i've gone for mods such as the quickshift. oh im also not looking to strip the car either as its my everyday car.

dont know much about it really but ill have a go..

cams
management
more headwork
flywheel lightened etc
nos??
maybe bore the engine out.bigger pistons etc??

lightened flywheel is an option allthough im concerned on the effect that this might have on the torque?

have heard this that they reduce torque, dunno if its true or not tho...
