How many mods you got? Sometimes things like alloys suspension exhaust don't make any difference.

i did it when i was 18 on my xr2i well it only had like alloys exhaust n clear lights. but i never crashed or needed to make a cliam and the police never said anything.i was only tpft any way so if i did crash would of had to replace them my self.

but your company wouldn't of paid out for the 3rd party so you would of been left standing like a lemon with a big bill as your insurance would be void.

yup but most people said quinn werent bothered about exterior mods. just they didnt like engine mods.

I've recently had a crash. Hadn't informed them about Depos or debadge grill and weren't bothered - I'm with Zurich.

Performance enhancing yes, you'll need to declare. Others mods don't generally need to be declared unless you want them replaced in the event of an accident.

My alloys, however, I had to inform the insurance company but as they're exactly the same size as the steelies, it didn't matter.

EDIT: It is worth ringing up pretending to be a new customer, asking what mods need to be declared and how much etc.

Yeaahhh, they probably won't say anything. If they do, say you had them both fitted that day, cash, by a mate. And were going to inform the insurance company in the evening.

If they ask why everything is sooted/dirty, say they are used parts

that wouldnt work deano, they would say well its not declared so your insurance is void, unless you had you crash on a sunday so the call centres would be closed

the way i see it is the only thing you should ever worry about declarin is an engine conversion. if you ever crash you have plenty time to strip off wheels suspension etc bodykit prob be fucked anyway so comes off quick enough. then stick standard parts on. they dont need to be fitted properly just as long as they roughly where they should. then sorted no problems. seen it done a few times.

as for the police they usually dont care unless your car is ott modified then they may ask to see if it all legal

TBH softstars are irmscher part so can see this as upgrade on original parts? exhaust wont make a difference tvh maybe £20. only thing that bumps up insurance is body mods

just go down the scrap yard get a set of steel wheels exhaust etc it only be a temp fix till they been.

That won't necessarily work. I phoned up my insurance as soon as I had the crash i.e. on the side of the road, they sent the recovery lorry and had booked the car in at the repairer, then the lorry took me and the car to the repairer. Then I drove home in a courtesy. Not really much time
