there on about the jail crisis on the radio but why did we stop executing people?? surely punishments such as the electric chair, lethal injection, hanging etc would the most suitable punishment for murderers?? the reason this whole country is messed up is because were too lenient... the prisons are over crowded with murderers, rapist, terrorists, pedo's etc
its should be back like the olden days, we should have stocks in public places where criminals should be displayed and ridiculed, most prisoners live better in jail than most of us do.. its not right..
discuss........

Yeah people are getting sent down far to easily now..
My cousins looking at 4 years for putting a video of a gun online.. although it was only plastic.. and the place where he was staying the police found heroin and coke or something like that...
And they let murderers out early cos the prisons are to full

thats ridicoulous (sp) for a plastic gun, by that reasoning any action movie star should be in prison

I don't mean his getting sent down for something silly...
I mean people fighting, theft etc...
Community service.. tags etc.. should be introduced for smaller crimes...

I dont know why it was removed from the justice system, as with everything now a days its all about 'human rights' 'equality' and was seen as unfair, along with the cane. The cane was seen as inhumane treatment for school children
Totally agree that the death penalty should be brought back, but then you can argue the 'what if's' that are always brought up. What if they are found to be innocent??
My own personal opinion is that the death penalty should be brought back, and used for criminals found guilty with an over whelming amount of evidence against them - when they are clearly guilty. Terrorists should face the death penalty - not because i believe they should die because at the end of the day a suicide bomber sets out to kill themselves, i guess taking away the 'cause' would be somthing
But the death penalty to be brought back to reduce the amount of inmates in prisons, therefore enabling the justice system to keep pedos, rapists and other people with 'small' sentences in for longer, therefore preventing reoffending, making the streets abit safer and inducing a fear amongst criminals and potential criminals that commiting a crime would result in death.
However i doubt criminals will actually fear it, and you could argue that by re introducing the death penalty we will just keep the 'smaller' criminals in for longer - therefore not helping to the current over crowding in prisions anyway!
Sorry for essay

I totally agree with tagging, michelle rodrigez has been tagged recently (I think for drink driving?)
Solution i think, get them whilst they are young. The kids in primary schools now need to be taught community values, and also - morals. To hold their heads high and make the best of themselves, not to follow other people and get into trouble
Bring back strict punishments at schools, some form of cane/modern punishment, stricter teachers, detention rooms etc
Open more youth centers, with community dance/music projects as most teenagers would be into that, run by decent people
All of this would cost money so isnt gunna happen

Its simple, we upgrade, everyone else upgrades but no country will EVER get rid of its nuclear weapons, as soon as it does it left vurnrable to attack etc
I really am fed up with hearing all the political bullshit, no matter what the government does no one is going to be happy
By putting money into somthing, you take money from somewhere else, then you take money from somewhere else to pay for that so its pretty much an endless loop
No one will be happy untill the goverment is overthrown, which isnt going to happen as the country has become to lazy to do anything about it. We would rather 'sue' the police for being punched by an officer when we were pissed and broke into a car, rather than worry about big intelligent things such as nuclear weapons and the prison situation
Population feels so excluded from the government that not as many people care about their vote anymore anyway, we would all rather piss and moan than do anything about it!

In rehaurds to the capital punisment thing, what happens if after the death more evidence is found and the accused was not guilty ?

But when does that ever happen? With todays technology and DNA testing nearly all murder convictions are 100% accurate. And IMO we should only execute those that are blatantly guilty. Like somebody who shoots somebody on CCTV, clearly guilty.
