i was putting the resin on with a brush and after one coat it went solid. how can u prevent this when fibre glassing?

i just have a big pile of small paint brushes waiting whenever i do anything with fibreglass its a pain in the arse

Fibreglass isn't paint, why are you letting it dry before putting on the next layer. You will end up having something that resembles an onion.

not letting it dry before the next coat it just makes a mess of brushes

use the plastic applicators mate, look a bit like credit cards

found out what it was, was my first batch of resin and put to much hardner in it i didnt let it dry in the other coats. its my first time gents its not going to badly just need to sand down a bit and put a few more layers on then get on repairing the front. finding it fun just have to see the results :S

You don't apply it in layers, you put down the ammount of fibreglass you need and then appy the resin. You do it all in one go.

the way i was shown at college was to apply it in layers, not just put down as much matting as i need and try to get the resin to soak through

soak the brushes in acetone, but make sure they are completely dry before using it

heres a tutorial by a pro
