I've bought some 284mm discs and calipers from a mate. We believed that they are calibra turbo brakes but i ordered some omp brake pads and they don't fit but they fit my 256mm calipers. Am i wrong in thinking they are turbo brakes or are omp wrong???

sounds like its not turbo calipers mate

think 284 were the cav v6 288 were turbo, but to complicate think later turbos were 284

284 are cavalier turbo from the early ones. they are not the same pads as the v6 or calibra turbo, the way to tell is that there is a small ear on the v6 to locate them in the caliper. if they fit your 2l callipers they are the wrong ones. quite hard to get hold of the pads you are looking for as i have found out.
