Minorities seems to be getting a preference among some high ranked people etc. It's not equal oppertunities; but less oppertunities for the majority white background - all to keep these pc people happy.

This whole thing is bullshit. When i was still in the black watch we had a lot of Fijian lads, as most army battalions do. And while out on physical training they would be told to hurry up and usually called black bastards as stated, no harm done they never took it to heart! The same as being ginger, you would be called a ginger bastard or a fat bastard etc
This has been blown out of proportion, i feel sorry for the guy.

There was a bloke on the radio earlier arguing that being called a 'ginger cnut' isn't as bad as being called a 'black cnut' because people have never been killed for being ginger 
I can think of at least one person who had ginger people killed....

Precisely. It's part and parcel of army life, breaking your self esteem down so you take order, humiliating you infront of other people so you don't argue back again, and don't lag behind.
Saying 'now come on david, if you hurry up, that will be spiffing' hasn't got the same effect as yelling abuse at someone.
