PACE has guidelines on arrests. You have to follow the rules.
PACE isn't there to protect or provide a defence for anybody.
She won't be able to use PACE but an enquiry can lead to actions being taken against the officer for not followig the guidelines.
The whole reason that PACE was introduced was to protect the rights of the people who the Police have dealings with. Before PACE then it was just like Life on Mars.
If the Police follow PACE then it protects them against complaints and thing as they can show their actions were covered by legislation.
Breaches of PACE can result in a prosecution not being pursued.

They don't have time to stop and say 'Would you like to pull your trousers up love?' and if they had, she would have kicked off again...
they should have, imo
actually, this case has made the headlines only because of it being being race related.
There are many kinds of arrest that do not follow the guidelines set out in PACE and the public/victimes (though they might be criminals) just don't know these rights

Force such as is reasonable in the circumstances.
They've gone flying down a set of stairs and ended up on the floor. At that point it's one on one. The other Officers come from behind him and it's very possible that he hasn't seen them as he is concentrating on trying to restrain the woman. How does he know she doesn't have a knife?
Like the Chief Constable said - It's not the size of the dog in the fight it's the size of the fight in the dog.
(I'm not calling her a dog btw that's a quote)

But she broke the law, one of the consequences was being indignantly dragged away, which seems fair to me, after causing criminal damage, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
I agree, the only reason it has made the news is because she isn't white. If she had been, it wouldn't have been brought to anyones attention.

why should she be treated with cotton gloves
soon police will be expected to say "Please sir would please step into to the back of the van, i know your kicking me in the balls but i cant stop you with force only request that you get into the van, thanks"

she definitely broke the law...I'm not defending that.
They should have used force on her. Agree on that
What I don't agree is that 'brute force' should has been used. The Act states force that is reasonable. 'Reasonable' definition might be non-exhaustive but imo, 'brute' force will not force in the list

Do you have a personal vendetta here? If so make your own thread then argue your point where your opinion counts, don't bring up random issues in a thread where your point is worthless.
This is a thread about a women being beaten up by police yet you continue to be hung up on something completely different then label me with being 'irrelevant'.

i'll have a personal vendetta for as long as people keep trying to belittle my point. i never brought up the point of people blowing other people up and i stopped arguing it with john over a page ago, it was you that brought it back up, not me.
sorry to everyone for hijacking the thread, i won't continue my argument any longer
