What a pain in the erse it's been today.
Serviced it yesterday between jobs on the skyline.
New plugs, rotor arm, leads, oil, oil filter, air filter.... which left the fuel filter to do today.
These always seem to be a cuntunit on every car i've ever had (that have them inline under the car/wheelarch. The joins to the filter were crusted solid.
Sprayed with penetrant, and left.
Had a go at undoing them in situ - no way
Noticed one end has been bodged (copper pipe cut and flexi section stuck on the end with jubliee clip. Tried undoing the jubilee and twisted the copper fuel line arse.
Hacksawed the fucked pipe out.
This allowed me to get the filter out of its cradle and into a better position to get the spanners on. Managed to loosen th eother end and get it off, with the IN end still on with the flexi and bent bit of copper pipe.
Even with this off i couldnt get the feckin join undone
Out came the angle grinder to grinf the filter off. Got it off in the end but scored the threads of the fuel line slightly and melted the O ring double arse.
Put it all back together full well knowing it would leak, and it did.
Went and bought some O rings from halfords and wrapped the threads in PTFE... SORTED
what a ball ache!
All of this was between filings of the skylines rear arch

Changing fuel filters on a corsa C is a piece of piss i's sure you'll be glad to hear . All plastic bar the filter itself, and no threads to destroy, so it's a 5 min job .

Still residual fuel in filter though Adam and vapour, well, bloody everywhere Bit suicidal
And yes, they are a pain in the arse.
The number of times I had fuel down my arm as an apprentice. Horrible.
