my engine bay paint is shocking and theres rust coming through so i wanna get it sorted as soon as, what kind of places can do this? how much am i looking at, im guessing a fair bit as its an engine out job
would it be worth chucking an xe back in its place? insurance is affordable but not the cheapest

why not attempt to do it your self,
aslong as its only surface rust, remove that and paint bay
defo worth sticking an xe in if you can afford the insurance...

sand it back to bare metal, put rust treatment stuff on, sand with wet and dry sandpaper to key the surface, few coats of primer with a sanding between them, couple of coats of paint with sanding between them

rub it down, etc, and primer/paint, i guess
rattle can's, hammerite etc?

sounds like a summer job so i can cycle to work while its getting done and mite aswell get an xe put in aswell
