There's a few of these supercar clubs around - mainly in London. Basically you pay £10000- £15000 a year, and you're entitled to bout 50 days driving cars from their garage - proper supercars Ferraris, Lambos, Astons. Some middle of the range stuff - 911, m6, m5. And some cheaper valued cars - M3, Z4, Cayman etc.
Obviously that works in the London area because of the wealthy population etc. It got me thinking though - would a less ambitious 'club' work in smaller cities like Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol etc. Providing quite impractical cars you wouldn't generally own.
Stuff like Lotus Elise, TVR Tuscan, , Ferarri F355, 1980s Porsche 911, Delta Integrale. Not massively high value cars - but good fun to drive cars that people would want to use a few weeks a year rather than 365 days a year.
I've done some rough figures -and come up with a rough figure in my head for membership.
Membership would give you fully insured, access to that garage of 5 fully mantained cars for about 100 weekdays or 50 weekend days (weekend obviously a more popular time to want it), and obviously a combo of both e.g. 50 weekdays, 25 weekend days.
So you save on buying the car, depreciation, mantainance costs, insurance, garaging it etc. And you get variety, you're not stuck with the same car!
So you could have one of those car for one weekday every week of the year, and for a whole weekend once a month.
Just wondering what you guys think of the idea and more importantly what annual 'membership' fee you would pay to be part of this club.
Thanks, Phil.

plus you'll still need a minimum age i would of thought of 25 so the insurance will be cheaper.

yer I appreciate that. I'm more interested to know what people think - is there a demand for this kind of club? What sort of price would you pay etc. Thanks, Phil

Not every member is going to want to use up their full allowance on weekends. The exact ratio might need tweaking a bit possibly.
What would people prefer - paying about £3k including insurance etc. and having access to Elise, Tuscan, M3, Delta Integrale - that sort of class.
Or paying £5 and having access to Ferarri F355 (maybe a 360) + 911 Turbo as well?
Cheers, Phil.

Seems like a good idea to me. As long as the money side works out.
