Don't apply hard pressure! You supposed to apply light pressure to begin with. I think you supposed to go along at a certain speed (say 40mph) then gently brake until you come to a stand still, then go to a higher speed and gradually increase the braking pressure. There was an article in PPC about it...

There is no way to bed them in "properly and quickly"

Just drive sensible for about 500 miles

That would just "glaze" the brake pads, and they would work about as well as Saxo brakes then.

for normal pads and discs drive normally for 300 miles gradually building up the braking period and speeds. DONT apply heavy pressure for the first 200 miles or so and dont allow the car to stand still with the brakes applied, use the handbrake in traffic.

then theres the best way if they are a high performance pad/disc:

at least 10 stops from 40-5mph, not allowing a stop, do the 10 stops in quick succsession not allowing the brakes to cool between stops. use around 75% braking force.

then increase the speed by incraments of 20mph and use the same 10 stops in quick succession WITHOUT coming to a stop. once you have carried out stops at 40 60 and 80mph then they will be up to temp and bedded in.

this isnt reccomended on the public highway though
