My mate has a 1.1 106, and to be fair it's pretty quick.. But why are they so quick? He beats 1.4 16v clios etc, and was level with a fiesta si last night.
Everyone recons its because hes got a exhaust and filter, and im like "no, that doesn't add bhp on that car"..
they're like "oh I think he has a buggati engine in it"/
It really pisses me off, knowing that the people around me haven't a clue, and think this 106 is a jet car..
But the question then, why is the 106 1.1 quite nippy? And for some reason is a tad behind the speed of a quicksilver?

i remember when i had my corsa 1.2 8v my mate has a 1.1i 106 as a courtesy car for something i remember he took me out in it and it felt so so rapid compared to my corsa

Yeah, his 106 1.1 pissed on my 1.2 8v corsa.. why they so nippy though? he also raced a 1.3 nova sr, and was neck and neck and I actually think he beat it once!

we had it off the clock once past 120 it was showing

my next door neighbour has a 1.1 independance or something, it's blue and a 1.1 106 and it sounds like an old persons rattly teeth and isn't that fast at all ?

no i haven't driven it and i'm not sure if he rags it, he's 17 so that might be the reason? i know he can't pull away correctly as he revs it like mad and about 5 seconds later he finally goes  lol
