Hi all, just fitted my mantzel inlet on my x14xe, blocked off the egr with a blanking plate, however where the throttle body used to be there is no blanking plate, do I actually need one when the egr is blanked off?
the battery was disconnected for a good 4 hours before starting up, surely this would reset the ecu?
When the car starts up it idles at about 3000-4000 rpm, however when I disconnect the vacuum hose from the MAP sensor, it drops to a more sensible idle, but is very jerky through the rev range and drinks about 4 times as much fuel as it usually would.
I have checked all the sensors are plugged in properly and made sure the necessary wiring extensions were done correctly, and as far as I can see there are no vacuum leaks on the inlet system.
Any ideas?
By the way I have searched through previous posts, and one lad on here experienced similar problems, however the thread didnt say whether he solved it and how..

Well...for the benefit of others fitting mantzels in the future, I have fixed the problem, where I extended the wiring I made a slight mistake, fooling the throttle position sensor into thinking it was on full throttle constantly, as a result my corsa went through £15 worth of fuel in 38 miles, (can usually get about 40 miles out of a fiver!) Is running pretty nice now, very quick!
