if its the release bearing it would whine when you put your foot on the clutch to the floor

it should be the release bearing mate (it will wine when your foot is not on the clutch put your foot on the clutch and it will stop) also have you checked the gearbox oil ?

cheers lads
a lad who i work with says that to replace the release bearing its well expensive.
the engine and gearbox have to come out. and then they have to be split. then replace the bearing. then put it all back together
to me this sounds like its going to cost a few hundred in labour alone.
does this sound about right

dont have to take engine out, have to take the box out though, same work as changing a clutch

could try adjusting your clutch cable first, that sometimes solves it.
