Should have gave it to them with the windows down as they can't put them back up IIRC.

Didn't know they could fail you for them though if so down go my wendow in 2 weeks

Try heating them up with a hairdryer to melt the glue

Take the car somewhere else, and ask if the tints will fail before they test it.

Taking the tints off is the most hatefull job ever, the glue and everything.. when I took mine off the front I never got them back on because I would never put myself through that lol..

Just scraped it, never thought about the nail varnish remover, seems like a good idea to use spirits, I didnt lol

I think its because it limits your view of things when you look out the windows

surely if you love your tints that much you would just go to the scrappy spend a tenner or so on two front windows, and swap them over for the MOT?

do they have to be legal when going through the MOT then?

my front ones are 50% but i can still see out of them clear as day and people can still see you in side looking back at them like ''WTF you lookin at?''

Hair dryer or something hotter (but be careful) to get the film off, so I heard.

Try using WD40 - I used it to get rid of the glue on the car badges and the glue literally bubbled in front of my eyes!

Yes, funnily enough, because I had been struggling with just a hair dryer.

lol, like it wouldn't be a ball-ache removing your door cards and replacing 2 windows

Seriously, it took me about 15mins of solid graft to get the glue off each window.

If you're going to remove the windows anyway then you may aswell just tip hot water on them which will make the glue soft and just wipe away

I had my MOT last september, I stupidly took it to vauxhall, they failed it on the exhaust, but said nothing about the tints, I have the lightest possible on the front sides, I took it to a place I know when I fixed the exhaust, and it passed no probs, so it's probably best to ask another place first
