not often, but yer - gun shots when changing down a gear, and nearly as bad when just on over rev.

only started in the last month or so - however much i bum the sound when it dus it - is it bad???

just unburnt fuel igniting on the hot exhaust, could be overfueling

or a missfire thats causing unburned fuel to enter the exhaust.

well i dont have a middle silencer any more so mebe its slowly getin lowder as the inside wears in?

i used to make one of my cars slightly overfuel for pops n bangs its fun enjoy it!

and will eventually destroy an engine, as well as lose you lots of power.

Its probably already destroyed your cat.

If its a fuel injected engine(with std management) shouldn't be getting unburnt fuel enter the exhaust system, unless its got a problem such as cts faulty, or air leak in the exhaust.

My car didnt have a cat. And my car believe me ran sweet as a nut. used to bubble and pop when i came of the throttle. beautifull sound!

doesnt do it constantly - only around 2000 revs or really low like 850 while rolling along.
havent lost any power and could possibly be a gap in exhaust (because i've had to putty part of it thanks to a rock )

how can i stop it overfueling? reset ecu or sumink?

If the exhaust is leaking, the lambda picks up oxygen, and richens the mixture.
Causing unburnt fuel to enter the exhaust.
