You could technically get around the Data Protection Act by having buyers and sellers agreeing to your DPA statement when they supplied details to the trade, ie. CS holds details and parties agree that they are happy for CS to do so and that the sites purpose in holding them is that they will be disclosed in the event of any messing.

DPA is only as much of a problem as your expectations when you collect the data. Our problem is that normally I'm given phone number and addresses well after a problem has arisen and certainly late enough that we can't seek consent from the data subject for their data to be held by me.

Plus it all needs to be far more secure etc. Its got mileage but its not a five minute job.

If you fancy programming though there is copious opportunity to get involved. I'm after a complete new classifieds system that would include feedback if I'm honest. Its a bit down the queue though after ticket sales app for this show season and search and perhaps many other things I can't think of right now!
