I think it's more to do with the fact that it was an £850 Turbo'd boy racer car that it's a bit shit...

didnt realise they were this shit.

Went to shift to 4th and it wouldnt go in gear, had to pull all the way over to the hardshoulder in traffic!

The clutch is permenantly engaged, wont open, piece of shite

dont forget you paid very very very cheap money for it..

i spent 3k on mine and ive never had any problems that were really expensive

Just for the record, the problems i have had were...

clutch slave cylinder went pop £50 for new one
original clutch went £100 fitted
downpipe started blowing £40
mot £300

thats it.

I dunno if its just the clutch, it wont disengage, if the clutch had gone it would allways be disengeged

Clutches fail progresively normally too. It would be supprising for it to suddenly go. If it just doesn't work it could be the release mechanism, release bearing or cable. All quite common things to go on any car. You can't own a car and expect nothing to ever go wrong. Especially on such an old car.

Spoke to my mechanic tonight. He said that thats what it is, or the pressure plate or summit. Picking it up on monday for me.
