Hello there,
What are the legal rights of someone if they buy a car privately? My mate has sold a car and the lad looked over the car and didn't ask any questions apart from has it had a smash and he said yes. He has had the car 3 days and now he is saying it is a death trap and threating him because he wants his money back!! What should my mate do!

private sale i doubt the law will do much. Depends how much your mate values his teeth probably.

Yeah pretty much. Just cut this from the autotrader website as I was just on there a min ago:

Not very helpful, but don't think your mate should worry too much tbh.

if it was a shitter i'd probably advise him to tread carefully unless he doesn't care about getting a kicking.
