The trouble is as some may know ive been banned from driving and aranging a lift at half 5 in the morning at a days notice is hard.

if you report it and they sack you then take them to court, you done nothing wrong
Ill see how bad the outcome is on tues and iff its serious then the union would be an option

do it asap, say your being treated unfairly etc and your worried you will lose your job if you point it out to your boss.
if he then 'tries' to sack you it will probably be him who gets the boot

They wont sack you, its up to them to have adequate cover to run their stores & so long as you give them no other reason to sack you - constant late/sickies/not doing your job etc etc they dont have any ground nor a leg to stand on. If they did - Unfair dismissal payout here you come!!
I cant believe this comes from Tesco........would expect it from some small 2 bit 3 man band outfit but not a miltinational company!!! If he keeps at it put in a complaint!!

thats what shocked me, i wouldnt be suprised if tesco was the uk's biggest employer.
its not like your working in a tiny corner shop and the owner whos an old man that hits you with his walking stick and keeps pestering you to have sex with his fat wife.
also theres a chance that hes been like this before and has already been reported which makes your life even easier

Yeh i agree totally, they keep going on about how much profit there making but they invest none of it back into the stores. We currently have 4 bakers, compared to 7 this time last year, due to people leaving and the hours being cut because of the budget and whenever you say we need more staff they always hit you with, were already over budget, thats wot we pay you for.
Its not like you can drag someone off the shopfoor and ask them to make bread

Is it not like this at every major uk retailer such as asda, morrisons etc?

I've worked in asda and it applies to big companies like this more so than little ones.
If you want to move up the ladder its all about how far you bend over.
It's not in any way related to whether you can do the job the best or not.
Watched and laugh at it happening many a time.

my missus works at morrisons and used to be supervisor of the bakery. this all sounds familiar, imo supermarkets are a shit place to work and I know i never would. she's like you tho, doesn't stick up for herself.

This must be a thing with Bakery staff at large Supermarkets. A mate of mine worked in our local Sainsburys Bakery, stupid hours for poor money and was constantly asked to cover shifts on days off etc. he finally had enough and told his Boss he was taking the piss and basically told him to fuck off and walked out an hour into his shift. He's now working for me as a Labourer and earning more money than he did in 6 years at Sainsburys.
