Im not sure how anyone can argue he isnt top class, how else has he kept more cleansheets that anyone for the last two seasons....his first two seasons in this league and only very young.

Could arguably be down to having a solid defence. I'm not saying he isn't a good keeper but he doesn't keep clean sheets single handed

yeah, certainly helps, but is only as good as Utds or Chelseas defenders (possibly worse considering Carra, our best, cant make it into England team over Terry and Rio), yet we keep more clean sheets?!

I would say your back 4/5 as a unit are on par the both Man U and Chelsea, and how Rio has kept Carra out of the England side for the last 18months or so is beyond me.

liverpool have kept more clean sheets than united because united are a more attacking,flair team than liverpool. and does anyone really honestly believe carragher is a better centre half than ferdinand?he is a good player im not denying that though

Ferdinand is probably a better defender on his day however Carra is far more consistant and reliable in my opinion

Agreed, carragher is the more consistent defender and this is all he does, rio can add more to the game in terms of a bit of skill going forward and good at getting in for a header noww and then but I know which I prefer
