You didn't just give an opinion though Ben. You also said "you must have the reactions of a 92 year old parkinsons sufferer tbh" which isn't actually funny, and how the fuck would you know what his reactions are like etc Stop trying to impress people and A) Have some of Steve's delicious G T F pie, or B) stop being a twat!

1) Was it a Pajero, or a Jeep?

2) NEVER even think about driving away from the scene of an accident unless you want to be unilaterally hated by all decent folk, and to spend some time at her magesty's pleasure, lose your licence and never get affordable insurance or a decent job again.

3) As far as doing the right thing is concerned, i'd agree with you and say you were VERY lucky, and i'd say he definitely did the kind thing, especially as he was within his rights to take your details and have his car checked over at your or your insurance company's expense. Obviously a very kind and sympathetic chap.

4) YES, it was your fault. You were joining a carriageway from a side road/private property and caused/instigated a collision with another vehicle that was proceeding along the road you were joining. If this was America you'd be in court.

5) The slam panel is the panel under the tip of the bonnet where the striker and latch are situated. The panel you refer to is often called a crash bar. Some might call it a bumper iron.

6) The black plastic panels that fill the wheel arches are called arch liners or wheel arch liners.

7) Your radiator is subject to all weather conditions and worse at all times, especially and more so when the car is in motion. Covering it with polythene will serve no purpose whatsoever other than to trap moisture and promote corrosion.

Sorry if that seemed like a lecture or piss-take.

Hope it helped a bit.

Better luck next time, we all learn from our mistakes and they are inevitable, as are road accidents.

Glad the car's fixed, and you jammy git for getting away without a 3rd party claim.
