I bodged the exhaust on my 2.0 to take it for a test drive I used some ducting anf cable ties. The ducting blew off and a huge flame came out from under the car - was at about 5k rpm or something. I thought the car had burst into flames

its normal on turbo cars to get flames on overrun as they run rich to cope with combustion temps etc...

on an N/A car its not ideal for it to be running rich on overrun, my 1.6 on tb's used to bang and pop but since setting the fuel map for overrun correctly it stopped doing it. ideally a well set up N/A engine shouldnt do it unless its running a high spec with big cams etc.
