Im no mechanic or electrician (im a web designing office boy)

Ive got an xbox i dont use and want to put it into my car for the back seat passengers, Ive made a nice casing for it to sit in and got tft screens to put somewhere(don't ask where) I just need to know how to wire up the xbox for power!

Step by step guide would be good.

you need a power inverter for a start....feck knows what else.

i have looked at power inverters, but i have no idea what power I need!

Get an inverter, it will have a 240volt uk plug socket on it, plug the xbox into it, voila.

you need to convert it from cars power to mains electric power

240voltuk plug socket inverter - check

You need a 12v AC to 240v DC power invertor.

I wouldn't run it directly as it will drain your battery, run it off a live that turns off with your ignition.
