Right,

Basically I went for a job interview today for a massive company in London.

They have offered me the job on a 3 month contract with the view to going perm after that if they like me and IF I pass the test (so in 3 months I could be out of a job)

Anyway, he said the job will be mine for 3 months IF I can start in a week. The problem is, I have to give a month.

Tell them you need longer than a week notice, they shud understand that - if they cant then i wouldnt waste my time specially if after 3 months you cud be out on your toes

You have to give your company proper notice and move companies. If they cannot wait the month then fuck them off, remember if they see you fucking off your current job just like that what kind of impression is that going to give them? They wont want to employee someone who is willing to drop their job and not give proper notice!!
