Yeah if you want to get on and be the 'boss' you have to be firm with the employees, but you can still get on with them until that time comes when you have to talk to them about something that is when they relise you are in charge and things have changed.

it depends

work is work
social is social

out of work we dont talk about work

the people i work with respect that decisions have to be made and that its not personal

depends on the mentality of the people you work with i guess

kiss kick kiss is always a good rule to remember!!!

when you have to give someone bad feedback start by telling them something good then move on to the bad then finish with something positive again

If you actually care that your employees are pissed off with you because they are shit management isn't for you.

depends on their reasons for being late in all honesty

At the moment the roads are terrible around our way and my boss came to my house last week as we away on a conference so went in one car and he openly couldn't believe the traffic

Therefore he understands if I'm late

My previous boss left me a voicemail one day saying I was mking him look like a cunt becuase I was late

He later found out I had been involved in a RTA and thus he was the one looking like a cunt - get all the facts before diving in is what I say
