Has anyone ever done this conversion. Those who have, could someone explain what engine mounts i would need because ive read that the only new one i would need is the front left hand mount?
Is there anywhere i can get them from online?
Thanks

Yes, I'm sure it has been done before but is harder work than say a 1.2 16v to 1.6 16v. I believe you have to completely change the wiring looms and everything.
There are people on here that know though so hold on and you'll get some real answers

To be honest it isnt worth the hassle mate.
If you wanted a faster car then you shouldnt have done alot of bodywork on a 1.0 or a 1.2.
The main problem is that with X10XE's and X12XE's, the ECU is mounted on the engine and all looms are on the engine apart from the 9 wire car loom.
You have to get an X14/16XE engine, ECU, loom and key chips, and plently of insulation tape and piggy connecters, and many many hours of your time.
