You can get special dog mats that they piss on. Our puppy is 12 weeks old and knows to piss and crap on the mat. She's been doing it for a few weeks now, no mess as its absorbant. Not one accident in the house

Yep. They work really well. Not sure how we'll get her to go in the garden though

Gradually move the pad closer to the door, then outside... then once she's used to going out there, remove the pad.

Thats handy, the pad is right by the back door anyway. So she knows the general direction.

She loves the garden, but getting her to come back in is a nightmare. Involves me running round after her til she's tired

We have bought those mats. She just chews them And i've been having to take her outside every 15 mins, otherwise, she pisses everywhere

we just put newspaper near the door for a few weeks. dog started to go near the door after a while and then we knew to let him out. now if no1 notices he's at the door he jumps up at you to tell you and makes noise.

yeh our dog got used to it really quickly we were suprised. he has been a really obedient etc dog since we got him.
